Sarah's Freedom Testimony
Â
Halfway through The Set Free Woman, Sarah is discovering that healing doesn’t always look like life suddenly getting easier—it can look like learning not to abandon yourself when life feels like it’s falling apart. As she begins recognizing the shame-based identities and patterns that have shaped her relationships, she’s seeing how often she automatically smoothed things over, fixed problems, rescued others, or found solutions to situations she wasn’t actually okay with. Now she’s beginning to slow down and ask herself different questions: What do I actually want? What am I okay with? What am I not okay with? She’s learning that having needs, using her voice, and allowing herself to show up differently doesn’t make her “too much.”
And showing up differently is creating something unfamiliar in her relationships: space. Instead of rushing in to fill the silence, apologize, say “never mind,” or make everyone comfortable again, Sarah is learning to stay present in the discomfort and allow God to meet her there. She’s discovering that she doesn’t have to have the solution, manage another person’s response, or keep the peace at the expense of herself. Even though this new way of showing up can feel uncomfortable, she’s already noticing the fruit: she feels lighter. Sarah is learning to trust God enough to stop fixing and rescuing, remain connected to herself, and allow Him to work in the spaces she once felt responsible to manage.
