Ashley's Freedom Testimony
Â
When Ashley began The Set Free Woman, she describes herself as lost, insecure, dependent, and unsure of who she was. Her marriage was in one of its darkest seasons—they were talking about divorce, and Ashley was convinced that what needed to change was her husband. She was looking to other people, especially him, for the love, reassurance, validation, and security she desperately needed. Her emotions often controlled her responses, anxiety could consume her, and she struggled to understand her own needs, boundaries, and voice. Her faith was also brand new; she remembers entering the program feeling like an “imposter,” barely knowing Scripture and unsure whether she even belonged.
Six months later, Ashley describes herself with a very different word: whole. As she learned to make God her source, she began discovering who she was, finding her voice, responding instead of reacting, setting boundaries, releasing control, and loving others without abandoning herself. And as Ashley changed, her marriage began changing too. She says their communication is healthier, they are repairing after conflict in ways they never could before, and her husband has recognized the difference in her. Her life has changed beyond her marriage as well—she stepped out in confidence and opened her own clinic. Ashley says it best: “I have clarity where there was confusion. I have confidence where there was insecurity, and I have peace where there was chaos… I know who I am, I know what I deserve, and I know whose I am.”
